How to Ace a Casting Director Interview

Casting Director Interviews and How to Ace Them

Hey, there. I’m Natasha from 3-2-1 Acting School in Los Angeles, California, here to give you a great tip on how to ace casting director interviews. This casting director interview could happen in almost any audition and especially with commercial auditions. The interview is for them to get to know you as a person. It may be the casting director, it could be their assistant, the director themselves, the client, anyone who is in the audition room may ask you questions. How do you answer? What do you talk about?

This is the time for you to shine. A lot of people think that an audition is just about learning your lines or looking a certain way. That actually is only a part of it. Being able to speak and answer a question, especially if it’s something about you, is so key.  Think confident, loud and proud and have fun with it. Be ready for questions and don’t over think the answers. Your answers really don’t matter they just want to get to know your personality and experience who you are.  Here’s a couple of great examples of how to handle casting director Interviews.

So that gives you a great idea on how to handle a situation like that. You just want to be energized, confident, and fun. And even if you can’t think of a perfect answer at the right moment, that’s OK. Any answer will do.

Owner/Director Ms. Mae Ross always says here at 3-2-1 Acting Studios, “your first idea is the best idea.” Go ahead and practice this tip at home by having friends and family ask you questions. And or of course, by going to any acting class either in person or in a virtual online class.
