Actor’s Audition bag, the items to carry!

What to have with you at all times in your actor’s audition bag!

Hello, this is Mae Ross founder of 3-2-1 Acting school in Los Angeles for children, teens and adults. In this video,  In this Vlog, I tell you what to carry at all times, in your actor’s audition tote bag. Also, what to keep in your car!

The partial list below, I think are musts. I mean, after all  your want to look good, smell good and impress others.  I remember auditioning with a guy I had to kiss and not only did he smell bad (body odor) his breathe was bad too.  So I REALLY had to act, lol.

List of items:

Water- You never know for sure if there will be purified water available. You need to stay hydrated for your body and your voice.

Snacks/Napkins- Fruit for a quick “pick me up” and high protein energy bars for feel good mood.

Head-shots/Resumes- Forget these, and you are sunk!

Business cards- If you have a business related  to the industry or not. It is always good to have these on hand when you meet any one at auditions.

Pencil/Pen/Highlighter- Maybe the other other actors took the sign in sheet pencils.  Do you really want to ask for a pencil?

Demo Reel on USB drive- What if you have “singer” on your resume. They ask you to sing. You are not warmed up and you have a cold.  Simple hand them the USB and have them play it right then and there.

Headphones- So no one talks to you and your can study your lines with out being distracted.

Personal Hygiene counts!

Deodorant- You want to smell good for goodness sake!

Breath mints/Toothbrush- You want to have sweet smelling breathe.

Make-up supplies- Cover your blemishes.

Hair supplies : Brush comb, spray, hair clips et.c.- To get your hair to match the character you are reading for.

Quarters for Parking Meter: How many times are you running late only to need quarters for the parking meter.

Change of Clothes: Dressy & casual- For multiple auditions in one day.

Iphone/Ipad: for GPS directions: Must have a GPS and be reachable for all audition updates.

Cash/Credit Card: Credit cards for any expensive emergencies.

Be sure to add anything personal that makes you feel confident. The idea is when you have these important items you will be prepared to present yourself in your best light!
