04 Feb Shining Los Angeles Acting Showcase Student
Nicole Lam, a shining Los Angeles acting student, is a perfect example of what we strive for at our acting school. We believe our best work is done when we help our students to succeed. And, one area we put even more effort into is helping students to best understand the “audition process” and how to excel. First, we start with on-camera personality slates. Then, we move on to cold readings. Next, we learn how to overcome nervousness using breathing techniques, improv skills and so much more.
Confidence is key. Whether walking into an audition room, college meeting, or job interview, these skills are an invaluable asset. Our showcase program helps children become professional, poised, and authentic. Truly, we love working with our acting students.
Below is Nicole Lam, telling us what she has been taking away from the program. Thank you Nicole Lam, you are shining!

TRANSCRIPT:
Nicole: Hi, my name is Nicole Lam. I’m 12 years old. So, when I came to Showcase, I didn’t really know anything about this acting world. But then everybody walked me through the steps. And I learned how to become more confident, and the camera just imagine that something, your favorite thing, is on the camera. And I used to be a little shy. And I didn’t really know how to communicate with people. But now since I did Showcase, I know how to face people and talk with them. And I’ve learned how to do my resume and the portfolio book and everything else. So I’ve learned really a lot.
Interviewer: Nice! And do you think you’re now ready to go out into the acting world after this?
Nicole: I think definitely because I’ve learned so much. And the teachers’ here are amazing, and they’ve prepared me so much that I am definitely ready to go out in the acting world.
