Whether it be on a movie, commercial or TV show, what are the safety rules to better protect your child? There are safeguards in place for your child actor. Here is what parents need to know.
New Law
When my son was in the biz, there wasn’t the AB1660 law to protect children. This law requires that professionals who work with your child closely, agents, managers, studio teachers, photographers must get finger printed. So a through background check is done. This is to keep the weirdos off the set. Glad to see there are more laws now.

If you have any questions go to the SAG/AFTRA website which lists all the safety guidelines and rule for minors. First of all, let me say when my son was in the business, I had great experiences on set. A well informed resource is bizparentz.org. Be sure to make Google your friend! Always do your research on all industry professionals. Read their reviews and what Google articles say about them. You want to be sure you get the right agent, manager and even acting class!
